The format

Pink first, then the thing in the doorway.

The whole set is lit like a birthday. Holographic vinyl, sequin walls, sugar-pink light through every door. The horror is not introduced by a change of grade, it simply walks into a room that stays exactly as sweet as it was.

A two-storey house wrapped entirely in glittering pink foil and sequin curtains, with pink steps, pink planters and flowers, under a clear blue sky.
Location / the house
A young woman with a black blunt fringe standing in a mint-green floral kitchen wearing a glitter crop top and iridescent silver flared trousers, a pink glowing doorway behind her.
Part 1 / before
Close portrait of the masked figure, pale seamed face with blacked-out eyes and antler-like horns, against a rose-tinted kitchen.
Part 1 / the reveal
The doorway shot blurred behind a game-style overlay reading What was THAT with two numbered options offering to leave or to continue, a mouse cursor hovering.
Part 1 / the choice
Every reveal ends in a menu. The overlay is deliberately cheap — hand-lettered options, a visible cursor — so the moment of fear is interrupted by something that looks like a game from 2004.

Structure

Two parts, one branch each.

The quest is not a story with an ending, it is a set of doors. Each part builds to a reveal and then stops to ask the viewer whether they are still in.

  1. Part I

    The house

A pink interior, a girl dressed to match it, and something already standing in the next room.

  2. Choice

    “What was THAT!!!”

Two numbered options: leave now, or continue. The blur holds until you pick.

  3. Part II

    The rabbit

The masked figure gets a face, a close-up, and the run of the house.

How it is being built

Pipeline.

Shot as vertical stills, animated in passes, then cut into two parts with the branch points written into the edit rather than bolted on afterwards.

Dress

One palette of glitter, foil and sequin, applied to house, wardrobe and light alike.

Cast

Two figures only: the girl who belongs in the room and the one who does not.

Animate

Vertical stills brought to motion, keeping the flat front-on framing of a doorway.

Branch

Choice overlays timed to the reveal, cut so the menu lands on the held frame.
